RIBBON CUTTING

Post by Buddy »

What's the deal with the ribbon cutting over downtown Disneyland. I've been told it was a failure and a mess. I regret that I decided not to attend. How was the crowd? I was also told a guy was rushed away by the police after he accused the mayor and council of being responsible for the death of the guy on the motorcycle in that chase. Can anybody fill me in?

I found the non-employee/elected official crowd to be fairly small. There was really nothing special about the event in my opinion which ended with a gentleman calling out the mayor and other officials for their part in the police shooting of an unarmed fellow in June. This gentleman was removed from the premises by law enforcement. I would disagree with the City's characterization of this event as "monumental," but, of course, the citizens of Newton are not allowed to comment on City Facebook posts.

Some jerk started spewing off at the mayor. The mayor seemed to slap the instigator with an open hand knocking him to the ground. Two police officers drugged the perp away as he was kicking and screaming like a little girl. Unfortunately, the officers didn't execute the trespasser on the spot. I believe it was a homeless guy. Kept saying "y'all know who i am".

I heard the guy utilized his First Amendment rights.
And it pissed a handful of people off.
